F&M Bank Teaches Smart Banking Practices.

Our financial education programs teach children and adults how to manage their money and credit through smart banking. By partnering with multiple organizations geared towards better financial futures, we bring teachers and resources into local schools and provide online tools you can access right from home. Develop a better understanding of your money, how it works, and build healthy banking practices through one of these programs:

  • Teach Children To Save

    F&M Bank employees spend several days in April visiting area elementary schools as part of the American Bankers’ Association. They run activities designed to meet educational standards in personal finance and reinforce concepts being taught in math, language arts and other disciplines.

  • Virginia Bankers "Bank Day" Scholarship Program

    Each March, F&M hosts a group of high school seniors who spend a day shadowing a banker in their daily duties. After the day, students write an essay based on their experience. These essays are then judged by bankers and thirteen scholarships (twelve regional and one statewide) are awarded to the winners! Contact marketing@fmbankva.com for more information.

  • Safe Banking For Seniors

    As part of the American Bankers’ Association, F&M Bank employees present information in order for seniors to recognize scams and avoid identity theft.

We Plan For The Future By Educating Children.

Our Kids Corner is a resource for children and parents to access appropriate websites and financial tools perfect for growing kids. Learn more about our Treehouse Savings Club and access a kids savings calculator from your desktop, tablet, or phone. Our Treehouse mobile app is available from the IOS App Store and the Google Play Store and has fun games that teach your children to save money and view savings accounts from their phone or tablet.
